The Guide was the first free newspaper in Britain and founded in 1889 in Blackheath. For the past twenty years it has been a local lifestyle magazine. In March 2004 The Guide was acquired by Archant and joined the Archant Life group under managing director Johnny Hustler.
We are a firmly established part of the community. We print 48,300 magazines and hand deliver all copies monthly free to selected homes and businesses in Blackheath, Brockley, Docklands, Greenwich, Isle of Dogs, Ladywell, Lee, Lewisham, Limehouse, St Johns, Wapping, and Westcombe Park.
The Guide is part of Archant Life London which consists of a portfolio of twelve monthly lifestyle magazines. The titles are: Southwest, The Hill, The Guide, Living South, The Green and Northwest and the recently acquired Angel, Grove, North, Rise, The Resident and Westside. The portfolio of 12 titles has a monthly distribution of 630,000 copies across London from Docklands to Ealing.
